My heart belongs to Stockholm

You’ve heard it all before…minimalistic, clean lines and European.  Yes, all the of the things I love in home decor.

Apparently I’m not the only one that feels the same way about homes in the US. I love this comment posted on Apartment Therapy:

Wow, these photos actually make you want to buy a home. Whenever I look at US real estate sites, particularly ones in my region there is nothing but endless pics of homes cluttered with Three’s Company and Showcase Showdown style furnishings.

I especially love the reference to Price is Right. Reminds me of polyester and orange prints (not in a good way.)

sunday sweets! sticky glazey lemon rolls

Oh my goodness, my mouth is already watering!

Sometimes you want something warm and gooey for breakfast but tired of the traditional cinnamon roll.  These Sticky Lemon Rolls with Lemon Cream Cheese Glaze will hit the spot.

These take me back to the lemon glazed angel food cake that my grandmother used to make us.

To learn how to make these lemony sweets, check out Apartment Therapy’s Post!

wine tasting at a wedding, do you dare?

There are many benefits to having a small guest list. One is being able to host a wine tasting and have it go off successfully!

With only about 30 guests at our upcoming wedding in Ireland we are contemplating something interactive such as this.

Apartment Therapy wrote an awesome article on “how-to” conduct a wine tasting.  It can be as formal or informal as you would like. You can really tailor it to your wedding.

Also, be such to speak with the food & beverage director at your venue.  They will be able to share with you the wine that will go nicely with your menu.

Having a lot of guests at your wedding but really want to incorporate a wine tasting? No fret! This is an activity that would really go over well at a bridal shower or even your rehearsal dinner.

how to make postcards from vintage book covers

via Apartment Therapy

This idea from Apartment Therapy is brilliant. I think I may even consider turning these into our wedding invitations!

It’s so easy and simple to create, just take a look below.

What You Need

Materials
Paperback book covers

Tools
Utility blade (optional)
Corner cutter (optional)

Instructions

1. Most paperback covers will tear away easily from the book pages. Covers that are old or firmly adhered might require the use of a craft or utility knife.

2. Once the cover is removed, clean away any glue residue.

3. Use a corner cutter to create clean, rounded corners.

4. The printed side of these science fiction postcards was designed on a computer and printed using a desktop printer.

Additional Notes: Follow postal regulations when mailing paperback postcards — they might require additional postage or hand stamping by a postal worker to enter the postal system. Be clever and choose a paperback title appropriate to the location and circumstances from where and when it will be sent.
