Talk about bringing roses to the 20th century! It is chic and classic. Here is a wonderful tutorial on how to create your own Vertical Layer Rose Cake!

I will flying to Ireland to see my husband in 23 days!! We’ll get to really celebrate then.
Love you xoxo
Yes, we ate the top of our wedding cake one year too early but that’s just how we roll.
With my obsessive love of cake and the fact that we were a 10 hour drive from Boston we decided that we weren’t going to wait to eat the top layer of our cake. I figured that we could always order a fresh cake next year and call it a day!

To really set the mood, we put our little topper back on the cake and did a little decorating for the photo session. Nothing like an oversized cake topper for a tiny cake.

When we cut into the cake this time, it was a lot less stressful and definitely more fun. I’m glad we had practiced only a few hours earlier!

This was my chance to “payback” Ger for smashing cake in my face. It got a little brutal and cake was everywhere but we really had a lot of fun.
We let everyone enjoy some anniversary cake!

For those of us that want to turn a delicious cake into something really cool (and dare I say, inspirational?) , this is how you do it!
Ticings has created hip edible sheets of icing with awesome designs to let any baker look like they are a professional. No need to use the lame Pillsbury ones anymore!
I think these are definitely something worth taking a shot at.

Today is my “25th” Birthday (and we must not forget Bradley who is also turning 1!)
What a big day.
I wouldn’t usually go on about my birthday but this year is a special one. Did anyone grow up with an “ideal” age where stars would align and everything would be perfect? Well for me it was 25.
Although I know everything won’t be perfect but I have a good feeling about it. It’s about embracing life, being aware and most importantly, being present.
This story by Nikole is really sweet and reminds us about reflection and turning life travels into life lessons and inspiration.
